You arrive through a meandering country road, surrounded by a volcanic mountain range and a unique dwarf-forest. Once within the 600-acre private reserve, you are allured into a canyon where a thermo-mineral river flows strong and trees grow 10 times taller than those on the rocky land above.
Upon arrival, visitors are received by the Rio Perdido Team with a refreshing beverage. Guests then head to the dressing rooms and change into attire, fit for the day's specific activities. The adventure begins with a scenic hike on one of the main trails. This introductory walk is led by one of our guides. As part of the hike, visitors have the opportunity to swim in different parts on the crystalline thermal river. At river's edge, you can see where the multiple springs emanate from the stonewalls.
After enjoying the trails and springs, an authentic Guanacaste culinary experience awaits our visitors at the panoramic terraces. Just below the terraces are the beautifully designed thermal pools with their private swim-up bar, a hanging bridge that connects to the reserve, and lookouts with stunning views of the canyons and dry-forest. Visitors generally awe at the ancient, tombstone-like volcanic rocks that tell of the cataclysmic eruptions of another era. This topography makes for a scene unlike anything you will see elsewhere in Costa Rica or the world.
