Grasmere Lodge State Highway 73, near Cass Canterbury, New Zealand
Hotel is closed until further notice due to the damage in the Christchurch area caused by the Earthquake. The Grasmere Lodge is tucked away in the heart of the Southern Alps of New Zealand. It is approximately 90 minutes drive from Christchurch city in the glorious South Island of New Zealand. Dramatically situated in the core of a 6,000 hectare grand pastoral station (ranch), the original limestone homestead built in 1858 forms the basis of this gracious and comfortable Lodge. 100% Kiwi owned and operated the Lodge encourages guests to relax by the heated outdoor swimming pool with a glass of wine from the extensive underground cellar, or unwind in the leather bound comforts of the library before a superb meal of local produce. Gin-clear streams and lakes challenge the fly-fisherman, while flights from our air-strip bring views of Mt Cook to kayaking the Able Tasman within easy reach. An inviting on site Spa with resident therapists experienced in massage and beauty treatments, can look after you in the Homestead. Tennis, clay-pigeon shooting, walking, mountain biking, horseback riding or taking part in the daily 4WD station tour are also available to our guests.
